Fashion's Biggest Night: The Oscars 2012

Hollywood's most important night of 2012. when it comes to movie and fashion industry is certainly The Oscars. On this evening we find out who are the best actors and actresses, who is the new style icon, who is n0.1 designer of the 2012, which couture designs are the most desirable at the moment and so on. This year there are some newly discovered stars such as Rooney Mara, and some fash surprises: Maria Menounos, who looks better than ever in a mint green grecian gown, Stacy Keibler in a gold Marchesa gown, Milla Jovovich in Elie Saab gown completed by a slick Edie Parker clutch and lots of diamonds.

Although medias are joking that the most famous womanizer George Clooney brought his own Oscar statue,  there's no joke when we say that this golden girl is one of the hottest girls at The Oscars.

"My week with Marilyn" star and Oscar nominee Michelle Williams wore a red Louis Vuitton gown, and we now understand why she got that flattering role: Michelle is almost as pretty and sexy as Marilyn herself!
E! television reporter Giuliana Rancic looked fashionable as always: she wore a bejeweled nude gown by Tony Ward and a perfect bun.

Penelope Cruz wore a stunning Giorgio Armani gown with a fitted bodice, while Cameron Diaz looked fabulous in a nude Gucci gown matched with Tiffany & co. jewelry worth almost 1 million dollars! Angelina Jolie was in a black Atelier dress and no jewelry. Too simple for this gala event.

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo star Rooney Mara was too much dramatic in an art-deco gown by Givenchy, very pale, with some serious bangs and bloody red lipstick

Our favorites were Maria Menounos, J.Lo, Rachel Smith, Penelope Cruz and Emma Stone who was all glammed up in a red Giambattista Valli. This girl is officially our new style icon!

Miss Lopez is no longer Jenny From The Block, and this Zuhair Murad backless gown proves it! She had Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, an elegant bun, smokey eye makeup, neutral nude lips and accentuated cheek bones. This woman can never go wrong!

Meryl Streep was ladylike in a gold Lanvin gown matched with a mini clutch, while Gwyneth Paltrow rocked a white Tom Ford dress.

Anna Farris looks much older in this black Diane von Furstenberg all-covered gown, doesn't she? The long bob doesn't suit her quite the best.

Sarah Hyland in Alberta Ferretti
Melanie Griffith & Antonio Banderas
Kelly Ripa in Carolina Herrera

Rose Byrne wore a black sequined gown by Vivienne Westwood . Jessica Chastain looked gorgeous in Alexander McQueen matched with Harry Winston jewelry. She brought her grandma as a date, which gives her some extra points!

Kristen Wiig in J.Mendel
Kate Mara in Jack Guisso

Tina Fey in Carolina Herrera

Busy Phillips in Dolce & Gabbana
The worst dressed? Definitely Viola Davis, Sandra Bullock and Anna Faris with wrong hairstyle and dress.
Busy Phillips and young Sarah Hyland left us indifferent.

Viola Davis in Vera Wang

Bingbing Li in Georges Chakra Couture

Ellie Kemper in Armani Prive

Missi Pyle in Valentina Delfino

Nancy O'Dell in Chagoury Couture

Shailene Woodley in Valentino Couture
Dominating trends? All shades of nude, backless dresses and sequins, even though sequin embellished outfits don't look good on everyone.

Post your own thoughts: who was the best and who was the worst dressed this year?

The Brit Awards 2012

Star of the evening that celebrates achievements in British musical scene was Rihanna rocking the Givenchy sequined dress glammed with pair of brown leather glows and stunning heels.
She wasn't the only gorgeous star shining on red carpet as Kylie Minogue & Lana Del Ray were breathtaking in their elegant gowns. Nicole Scherzinger, the girl whose style everyone loves to hate, chose a great gown this time and showed that she's trying to improve her appearance and never get "the worst celeb" award anymore.

Cher Llyod and Alexandra Burke should definitely had spent some more time choosing the right look for this Gala event.

Girly Footwear: Sneakers

Recently I heard a girl saying that "ladies don't wear sneakers" which is, if you ask me, not quite the best conclusion about what makes us ladies. As for me, being a lady has nothing to do with height of our heels, it's a state of mind, our attitude, poise, grace, good manners and thousands of other things that can't be bought or measured in centimeters.
Don't get me wrong: I adore high heels and they do give us self-confidence and a visually thinner figure, but it's indisputable that a woman can allow herself to slip her feet into something more comfortable and still look and behave in a ladylike way. In fact, I know many ladies who prefer flat footwear over super high stilettos.
So, if you're among those who like wearing comfy & cute sneakers, we made a choice of the most popular ones for you.

Trending 2012 - Hats

For centuries hats are synonymous of elegance and class. Over the ages they were changing their shapes following cultural and fashion progress but they have never disappeared from the fashion scene and on some royal events they are still part of the dress code.

Nowdays they are wearable in whole variety of shapes and became on of the items that make statements and draw attention.

There's a hat for every style you may have. Beside being fashionable they have quite practical uses as protection from sun or cold, to hide your larger nose or forehead as well as help on the day you rushed out of house without perfect hair or makeup. For small head we suggest avoiding huge hats and choosing 1920's style (see pictures further bellow) .

For 2012 trends are large round soft hats but you'll still look great if you chose smaller ones.
